What to include in a takedown notice

  1. A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
  2. The URL of the page on html buddy you claim is infringing (e.g., https://…/p/<uuid>/).
  3. Your contact information — full name, mailing address, phone, and email.
  4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  5. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
  6. Your physical or electronic signature.

We will review valid notices and, where appropriate, remove or disable access to the page within a reasonable time, and notify the page's author with a copy of the notice.

Counter-notice

If you are the author of a page that was taken down and you believe the removal was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address. A counter-notice must include:

  1. Your contact information and signature (as above).
  2. The URL of the page that was removed.
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the page was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  4. Consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for the judicial district where you reside, and that you will accept service of process from the party who sent the original notice.

Upon receiving a valid counter-notice, we may restore the page after 10 to 14 business days unless the original claimant files a lawsuit.

Repeat infringers

Accounts associated with repeat valid takedown notices will be suspended or terminated.
